How does telephone counselling work?
Telephone counselling also known as phone therapy or phone counselling, provides the same opportunities as face to face counselling. It is a confidential space where you can talk to a therapist about issues affecting your life. You can access therapy from the comfort of any safe space where you feel you can talk freely without being overheard or interrupted for the duration of the call. Phone therapy takes place at a per-arranged date and time.
Whilst a convenient option, telephone counselling is not a poorer alternative to face to face therapy. Research has shown that it can be just as effective as seeing a therapist in person.
During phone sessions you are not seen and don’t have to look the therapist in the eye. Some clients find this has a number of benefits and advantages and if you have arrived at this page then chances are you might too.
